We are seeking a Production Planner for a well established food manufacturing client of ours in the Vancouver area. The Planner will will work towards supply chain optimizing and primarily be responsible for assuring weekly and daily production schedules, while working closely with the Operations team.

Responsibilities
• Working with different departments (Supply Chain, Sales, Operations, and Purchasing) and using sales volume in a fiscal year, determines the availability of production, packaging and shipping capacities.
• Generating a rolling 12-month production plan on item level through spreadsheet techniques on weekly basis and run MPS to reflect those numbers in ERP.
• Coordinate production workflow for one or multiple products.
• Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delays.
• Address and resolve issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption.
• Analyze the inventories and manage supply of Western Items to East side of the country through transfers on a weekly / daily basis.
• Coordinate with operations and supply chain in determining storage capacity, for placing existing and future inventory.
• Monitor inventory levels in all the storage facilities and coordinate with Facility Superintendents to ensure that the appropriate stock is available for shipping and fulfilling customer orders.
• Implement an inventory buildup plan that will support the various seasonal spikes in our business.
• Run and model different production scenarios to support operations with decision making.
• Execute weekly alignment meetings with Sales / customer Service and raise any concerns on short term supply plan vs. sales.
• Execute a weekly alignment meetings with Operations in order to raise any concerns on short term /long term supply plan vs. sales and reflect the insights and results in the next MPS Run.
• Support S&OP process by providing valid data in the system on time and raising the flag of potential supply risks.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a Supply Chain Planning role
• Excellent knowledge of production planning / inventory management and sales forecasting
• Experience in Manufacturing resource planning
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel
• Experienced working with an ERP System (i.e Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, etc …)
• Team player with leadership skills Analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills
