Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee daily production operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Lead and support the production team, fostering a high-performance, positive work environment while effectively planning and prioritizing production schedules.
- Ensure optimal equipment performance and resource utilization by overseeing maintenance, monitoring inventory, and coordinating with relevant teams to prevent production delays.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and calibration to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Manage inventory and resource utilization, coordinating with relevant teams to maintain supply levels and support uninterrupted production.
- Drive cost-effective production by monitoring expenses, recommending process improvements, and collaborating with management to optimize efficiency and stay within budget.
- Manage and adjust production schedules to ensure efficient workflows and consistently meet output and quality targets.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards by enforcing protocols, conducting audits, and promoting ongoing employee awareness.
- Coordinate cross-departmental communication, maintain detailed production records, and provide performance updates to management to support smooth operations and timely delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement by implementing lean practices, streamlining workflows, and fostering innovation to enhance quality, efficiency, and productivity.
- Ensure orders meet specifications and are delivered on time by collaborating with sales and customer service to promptly address any production-related issues.
- Proactively resolve production issues by analyzing root causes, adjusting workflows, and implementing effective solutions to maintain smooth operations.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, schedule changes, materials, and employee management to ensure transparency and traceability.
Qualifications
- You have at least 2 years experience as a leader within the packaging industry + (digital print considered an asset)
- You have 3 years in a management role within a manufacturing facility
- You have strong leadership and team management: Coaching, training, disciplinary
- Proven success meeting production targets
- You have strong communication both written and verbal
- You are resourceful and have experience with improving efficiencies and other continuous improvements
- You are computer savvy and able to use production software and the MS Suite
- You can stand for long periods of time as this job requires you to be on the floor the majority of your shift
