Responsibilities
- Develop and mentor employees, provide feedback, and recognize achievements
- Ensure all operations comply with company policies and legal regulations
- Plan daily operations, assign staff, approve overtime, and manage costs
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives in line with ISO and LEAN principles
- Oversee capacity planning for equipment, space, and workforce based on workload forecasts
- Ensure all tasks are completed on time, meeting on-time delivery goals
- Maintain and improve location quality programs
- Ensure compliance with WSIB regulations and corporate safety policies, including workplace inspections and equipment maintenance
- Oversee incident reporting, investigations, and prevention measures, ensuring employees follow safe work procedures and use proper PPE
- Lead safety training and return-to-work programs, working with the Regional Health & Safety Manager and Joint Health & Safety Committee
- Assist with budget planning, capital expenditures, and maintenance programs
- Work with different departments to meet production standards and business goals
Qualifications
- You have a minimum of 3 years experience in a plant management (or similar) role
- You have strong knowledge of the Ontario employment act
- Experience with metal processing: saw cutting, overhead cran and loading
- You have supervisory experience working in a unionized manufacturing / production environment
- You have STRONG communication and interpersonal skills. This role will require you to build relationships with all employees, supervisors and internal stakeholders
- Strong analytical, time management and organizational skills
- Prior experience in process improvement programs is an asset
- You have strong project management, planning and decision making skills.
- strong computer skills - MS Office is key and are able to learn other software
- A college diploma in engineering or business administration considered an asset
