Purpose and Scope: The Production Planning Manager will be responsible for ensuring best practices in demand planning, inventory planning, production planning, and supply planning. This role will play a key role in business growth and inventory reduction strategies.
The key responsibility of this role is to analyze data from financial analysts and previous years' data to forecast current, future, and incoming demand. This will involve collaborating with financial analysts to gather and interpret data, reviewing historical trends to identify patterns and anomalies, and developing accurate forecasts to inform production planning.
The successful candidate will then create comprehensive plans and layouts to meet anticipated demand, designing and implementing efficient production workflows and resource allocation.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Review material requirements planning (MRP) daily and create/release jobs
- Issue work orders per production schedule and create/release rework as required
- Direct oversight of production scheduling activities and staff
- Ensure data entry integrity
- Prepare reports for management regarding scheduling activities and monthly schedule analysis/variance
- Review raw materials stock and verify re-inspection procedures
- Estimate materials and labor required for production
- Compile worksheets and specifications of orders
- Prepare/maintain progress and other reports
- Oversee execution of the production schedule
- Review long-term forecasts to identify/mitigate capacity/material issues
- Ensure work orders are completed on time and within budget
- Oversee cycle count activities to ensure accurate inventory
- Analyze demand/supply to identify bottlenecks and propose capacity improvements
- Implement solutions for continuous improvement
- Recommend components to stock for a pull system
- Perform capacity analysis to optimize product loading and achieve manufacturing continuity
Qualifications
Job Specifications:
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or related field
- 8-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with 4-5 years in a leadership role
- 3+ years of planning/scheduling experience
- Strong understanding of production processes, MRP, and scheduling
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical/reporting skills and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead/manage a team and coordinate with other departments
