Responsibilities
Gather information on hours worked for each employee
Calculate the correct amount incorporating overtime, deductions, bonuses etc. with assistance of
a computer system
Prepare and execute various 4 Eyes audits and be in the office on Payroll Processing Tuesdays
Process Short Term Disability Cases
Process taxes and payment of employee benefits
Keep track of pay rates, wages, compensation benefit rates, new hire information etc.
Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and superiors
Process (ROE)s Records of employment in a timely manner.
Qualifications
Requirements and skills
Proven experience as payroll specialist or payroll Administrator
Knowledge of legislation and regulations of the field
Proficient in MS Office (Excel) and good knowledge of relevant software (e.g. Kronos, ADP or other
payroll software) and databases
Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality
Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Must have High school diploma or equivalent;
BSc/BA in business, accounting or relevant field is a plus
Working towards PCP with The National Institute of Payroll would be considered an asset.
