We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual with exceptional interpersonal skills to join our Burlington Payroll/HR team. As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a key role in managing payroll processes, addressing payroll and benefits inquiries, and ensuring the highest level of confidentiality. Additionally, you will support the HR team by assisting with new hire onboarding and maintaining accurate and up-to-date HR records.

Responsibilities
Administer with hourly and salaried payroll
Maintain and update employee information, such as record of employee attendance, leave, and overtime to calculate pay and benefit entitlements, in Canadian currencies, using manual or computerized systems
Prepare and verify statements of earnings for employees, indicating gross and net salaries and deductions such as taxes, garnishments, and insurance and pension plans
Prepare, verify, and process all employee payroll related payments, including regular pay, benefit payments, and special payments such as bonuses and vacation pay
Complete, verify, and process forms and documentation for administration of benefits such as pension plans, leaves, share savings, employment, and medical insurance
Complete, verify, and process forms and supporting documents, such as year-end tax statements, pension, Records of Employment and other statements
Provide information on payroll matters and benefit plans
Compile, review, and monitor statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to pay and benefits accounts
Prepare and balance period-end reports and reconcile issued payrolls to bank statements
Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies
May be responsible for the development or implementation of payroll policies, procedures, and processes
Assembling reports of company earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability payments, and non-taxable wages
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in a related field, 2-3 years of payroll & benefits experience
Advanced Excel experience (V-Look Up)
Payroll experience with ADP Workforce Now is an asset
High precision and attention to detail
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Must be personable and possess a good work ethic
Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
Working knowledge of ESA is preferred
Ability to effectively manage confidential information
