Responsibilities
In this Payroll Manager position located in Toronto, you will be responsible for the following:
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for employees across multiple locations in Canada, US, and LATAM.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, including salary, overtime, bonuses, and deductions, in compliance with company policies, collective bargaining agreements, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage payroll-related data entry, including new hires, terminations, changes in salary or benefits, and timekeeping records.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure accurate recording and reporting of payroll data, including reconciliation of payroll accounts and preparation of financial reports.
- Stay current on federal, provincial, and local payroll regulations, as well as changes in collective bargaining agreements, to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and taxation, providing timely and accurate responses and resolutions.
- Maintain confidentiality of payroll information and ensure compliance with data protection regulations, including the handling of sensitive employee data.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to streamline payroll processes and enhance efficiency.
- Coordinate with external vendors, such as payroll service providers and benefit administrators, to ensure smooth integration of services and resolve any issues as needed.
Qualifications
In this Payroll Manager position located in Toronto, we are looking for:
- PCP, PLP, or working towards designation is an asset.
- Minimum 5 years of multiprovincial Canadian payroll experience is required.
- Experience processing payroll for US, and LATAM employees is a strong asset.
- Experience using ADP WFN is required.
- Experience posting journal entries, GL reconciliation, and other accounting functions is a strong asset.
- Experience in a leadership or standalone payroll position is a strong asset.
