Responsibilities
In this Payroll Manager position located in Toronto, you will be responsible for the following:
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for employees across multiple locations in Canada, US, and LATAM.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, including salary, overtime, bonuses, and deductions, in compliance with company policies, collective bargaining agreements, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage payroll-related data entry, including new hires, terminations, changes in salary or benefits, and timekeeping records.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure accurate recording and reporting of payroll data, including reconciliation of payroll accounts and preparation of financial reports.
- Stay current on federal, provincial, and local payroll regulations, as well as changes in collective bargaining agreements, to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and taxation, providing timely and accurate responses and resolutions.
- Maintain confidentiality of payroll information and ensure compliance with data protection regulations, including the handling of sensitive employee data.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to streamline payroll processes and enhance efficiency.
- Coordinate with external vendors, such as payroll service providers and benefit administrators, to ensure smooth integration of services and resolve any issues as needed.
Qualifications
PCP/PLP/CPM designation required
5+ years Canadian and US Payroll experience
Previous management responsibilities with at least 1 direct report
Proficiency with ADP WFN and strong Excel
