Responsibilities
The Payroll Manager will play a key role in managing payroll activities for the entire organization:
- Manage the complete payroll cycle for approximately 500 employees across Canada;
- Update employee records, including salary adjustments, benefits, and deductions;
- Provide clear explanations to employees regarding payroll deductions and requirements;
- Coordinate child support payments and wage garnishments;
- Prepare journal entries and generate monthly and ad-hoc reports;
- Participate in year-end processes, including reconciling taxable benefits and issuing T4 and RL1 forms;
- Analyze and account for group insurance invoices and support the Payroll Director in various projects.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this position should meet the following criteria:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role;
- Degree in administrative techniques, accounting, or relevant training;
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification;
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel;
- Knowledge of the UKG software, a plus;
- Bilingual, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English, due to interactions with external stakeholders.
