Responsibilities
Operations Management Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring production schedules
and quality standards are met.
Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and streamline manufacturing processes.
Monitor Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), availability, run rates, and scrap production; take corrective actions to achieve targets.
Manage preventative maintenance programs and promote operational excellence in plant maintenance.
Promote facility cleanliness, safety, and organization (5S methodology).
Implement and lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Financial Management
Manage the facility’s P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, and expense management.
Analyze financial performance and take actions to meet or exceed profitability targets.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive cost reduction and productivity improvements.
Create, implement, and monitor capital expense and major maintenance budgets.
Leadership and Team Development, Provide leadership and direction to supervisors and team members.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and employee development.
Lead talent development initiatives, including training, mentoring, and succession planning.
Monitor and manage staffing levels, attendance, and employee turnover.
Drive employee engagement, ensuring a positive work environment.
Customer Focus, Address and resolve customer complaints due to product quality in a timely and effective manner.
Collaborate with sales management and customer service teams to meet customer needs.
Ensure on-time delivery of products to enhance customer satisfaction.
Strategic Planning, Develop and execute short-term and long-term plans aligned with corporate goals.
Identify and mitigate risks while capitalizing on opportunities for improvement.
Support production planning for future orders, ensuring operational readiness.
OTHER DUTIES
Oversee annual inventory cycle counts and stock accuracy.
Manage safety programs, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Promote Continuous Process Improvements throughout the facility.
Hit company targets for on-time shipments, customer satisfaction, and labor budget goals.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
5-10 years of experience in plant/production management with P&L responsibility preferred.
Prior experience in coatings, chemicals, or process engineering environments.
Extensive experience with:
o Lean Manufacturing principles (OEE, efficiency, waste elimination).
o MRP systems (e.g., SYSPRO or equivalent).
o Inventory and warehouse management.
o Financial management, including budgeting and forecasting.
o Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
o Heightened sense of urgency, customer service, and goal achievement.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
KEY PERFORMANCE METRICS
o Safety compliance and injury-free workplace.
o P&L performance (profitability, cost management).
o OEE improvement and run rate targets.
o On-time delivery and customer satisfaction scores.
o Employee engagement, training completion, and turnover rates.
