In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Afternoon Shift, with a focus on achieving key performance targets related to service, cost, safety, and team management.
As the Operations Shift Manager, you will be a key player in driving overall operational success and continuous improvement initiatives.
This position reports directly to the Distribution Operations Manager.

Responsibilities
Drive employee engagement to maintain top performance in production, quality, safety, and labor relations.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with both Company and Union leadership to foster a collaborative, adaptable, and efficient work environment.
Apply LEAN and Six Sigma methodologies to implement continuous improvements that enhance cost efficiency, service quality, accuracy, and productivity, while keeping employee engagement high.
Ensure accountability at all levels within the distribution center by collaborating across functions to meet customer specifications and deliver products on time.
Lead health and safety initiatives in partnership with company experts to ensure a safe and secure work environment for all associates.
Develop and mentor direct reports, ensuring robust succession planning and supervisor development to maintain a positive and supportive work culture.
Manage and enhance the performance of direct reports, promoting a positive and productive workplace culture.
Qualifications
Preferred Experience: Background in wholesale and/or retail distribution, as well as direct-to-consumer operations, particularly in environments with fluctuating volumes.
Management experience with a unionized workforce is required
Team Training & Development
Experience with WMS – preferably Manhattan Associates
Strong, practical understanding of distribution flow, integration and automation.
5+ years of distribution experience leadership (accountability for an entire shift)
