In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of Afternoon Shift operations while meeting key performance metrics related to service, cost, safety, and people management.
As the Operations Shift Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the overall operation and driving continuous improvement.
This position reports directly to the Distribution Operations Manager.

Responsibilities
Foster high employee engagement to achieve top standards in production, quality, safety, and labor relations.
Build strong relationships with both Company and Union leadership to promote a collaborative, flexible, and productive work environment.
Implement continuous process improvements using LEAN and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance cost, service, accuracy, and productivity while maintaining employee engagement.
Ensure accountability across all levels of the distribution center, partnering cross-functionally to meet customer specifications and deliver on time.
Lead health and safety initiatives with the company's experts to maintain a safe working environment for all associates.
Develop and mentor direct reports, ensuring succession plans are in place and supervisor development supports a positive work environment.
Manage and drive the overall performance of direct reports, cultivating a positive workplace culture.
Qualifications
Preferred Experience: Background in wholesale and/or retail distribution, as well as direct-to-consumer operations, particularly in environments with fluctuating volumes.
Management experience with a unionized workforce is required
Team Training & Development
Experience with WMS – preferably Manhattan Associates
Strong, practical understanding of distribution flow, integration and automation.
5+ years of distribution experience leadership (accountability for an entire shift)
