Responsibilities
- Handling export files “A-to-Z”, including: quoting, booking, dispatching, Preparing ocean freight documents, offering/issuing insurance certificates, tracking, troubleshooting, and invoicing.
- Coordinating freight daily with vendors/agents.
- Participating in department and branch team meetings.
- Rate/contract negotiation.
- Issuing pertinent freight documentation.
- Constant monitoring and replying to e-mails in the export’s and personal work mailboxes.
- Ensuring appropriate margins are met on shipments.
- Ensuring vendor compliance with service standards
- Maintaining and fostering vendor and client relationships.
- Timely actioning vendor and client requests.
- Cross Train on Imports in order to cover when necessary
Qualifications
-Minimum of 3+ years of Ocean Export Experience
- Experience handling complex cargo-Dangerous Goods, ITAR, Project Cargo
- Dangerous Goods training Certification-IATA and IMDG strongly preferred
- Experience with Cargowise preferred
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to keep up with fast paced changes in the international logistics environment
