Responsibilities
Job responsibilities include:
- Welding of carbon steel
- Fabricating various items to support the production process requirements
- Evaluate finished products and perform quality checks
- Work with Eng/Process groups to prototype & develop improvements
- Fabricate jigs & fixtures for manufacturing
- Rigging & hoisting raw materials
- Manage raw material and consumable inventories
- Participation in 5S audits and Continuous Improvement Program required
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Who are we looking for?
- Completion of high school diploma required
- Must possess a valid welding ticket or equivalent
- Must have a minimum of 2 years welding & fabricating experience
- Previous experience with Mig & Tig welding an asset
- Ability to weld carbon steel (all positions), (Mig & Tig)
- Must be familiar with operating oxy/acetylene torch & plasma cutter
- Must be familiar with reading blue prints and creating a BOM and cut lists
- Must be familiar with fabrication tools (e.g. band saws, drill press, etc.)
- Valid forklift license would be an asset
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Available to work overtime on short notice
- Must have a proven safety and reliability record
- Must have a positive attitude that contributes to a team environment
- Ability to communicate well in English (spoken and written)
- Must have demonstrated good work habits for a period of not less than six months in the present job
