Responsibilities
◾Collaborate with Design & Project Leads on conceptual designs, addressing potential issues and code requirements.
◾Prepare, review, and refine design briefs, drawings, and specifications.
◾Assess and compare equipment design costs.
◾Act as a technical advisor to the project team.
◾Conduct engineering reviews to ensure compliance with codes and standards; seal work accordingly.
◾Oversee project milestones, provide progress updates, and ensure timely, budget-conscious delivery.
◾Develop alternative solutions and respond to permit comments.
◾Support project hand-off to Construction Services, assisting with verification requirements.Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical
◾Provide construction support and site reviews as needed.
Qualifications
◾Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited Canadian University, or equivalent is required.
◾Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer with the Professional Engineers of Ontario is required.
◾5+ years of relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering, specifically related to HVAC & Plumbing construction industry or equivalent required.
◾Substantial knowledge of pertinent codes and standards (O.B.C., CSA Standards, ASHRAE etc.).
◾Experience in the design of mechanical systems commonly used in multi-unit residential buildings, or similar, is required.
◾Experience in private sector works, specifically working with private sector developers is considered an asset.
◾Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and AutoCAD suites
