Randstad Canada is looking for a production supervisor for a manufacturing, automotive plant located in the Mississauga area. This person will be present on the floor with the employees and will manage a team of up to 35 workers. He or She will supervise, manage production and support employees. Versatility and adaptability is therefore a highly considerable quality.
Monday to Fridays - flexibility is required as extra hours may be required
- Days: Monday to Fridays shift from 7:30am to 4pm

Responsibilities
The Supervisor's responsibilities will include:
1.Demonstrate a commitment to the core values and principles of organization.
2.Demonstrate a commitment to the quality of product and service that equates or exceeds the standards of organization.
3.Demonstrate and uphold the Health & Safety policies and procedures of the organization.
4.Responsible for controlling material movement and inventory.
5.Must ensure accurate record keeping of production reports.
6.Determine the best racking method using knowledge of experience.
7.Liaise with the Expeditor and Plant Manager to coordinate the processing of parts to meet customer requirements.
8.Demonstrate competence to carry out duties of Supervisor under the Occupational Health and Safety act.
9.Understand and train instructions to rack / un-rack parts.
10.Good understanding of plating finishes and codes
11.Attend and participate in all required training such as but not limited to WHMIS, Health and Safety.
12.Maintain department safety (including housekeeping), quality, and productivity to meet daily goals
13.Report Spills
14.Report damaged to equipment or warehouse.
15.Inspect bins for damage and report to of Expeditor / Q.C. Supervisor
16.Execute work orders as given
17.Operate all tools and equipment used in the racking process
18.Visually inspects product prior to racking while notifying Q.C. Supervisor of any non-conformances.
19.Participates in all shift communication meetings
20.Maintains work area in a clean and organized manner.
21.Works with a positive attitude and reports all questions or problems to Q.C Supervisor / Plant Manager.
22.Racking / Un-racking parts at pace to meet production rates and standards
23.Work together on a line to provide teamwork and efficiency
24.Perform other duties as assigned by Q.C Supervisor or Plant Manager. These duties may include, but is not limited to, the temporary transfer to another department
25.Basic understanding of plating procedures and how racking affects quality
26.Use Personal Protective Equipment:
-Safety Glasses or Prescription Glasses (shatter proof)
-Safety boots
-Safety vest
-Safety ear plugs
-Gloves
-Bump Cap
Qualifications
1.Good verbal and written communication skills
2.Able to maintain punctual, regular and predictable attendance
3.Motivated and able to follow instructions of Expeditor / Q.C. Supervisor and Plant Manager.
4.Able to lift parts weighing 1 – 20 LBS and load / unload on/ from racking in manufacturing environment
5.Able to work in warm to hot, humid environment where chemicals are used for coating / plating of parts.
6.Able to lift parts 50 – 100 LBS occasionally with assistance
7.Able to perform basic visual inspection based on standards
8.Supervision in automotive environment and or Manufacturing environment experience
9. Adaptable and flexible, a true team player
10. Comfortable working in fast pace automotive environment
