Job Description:
Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. This includes working with precision instruments to fabricate, modify, or repair mechanical instruments. The role may also involve modifying parts to repair or maintain machines, using knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, and machining procedures.

Responsibilities
Set up and operate manual lathes to fabricate precision parts within tight tolerances (±0.001” to ±0.0007”).
Work with materials such as 316 stainless steel, Hastelloy, and Duplex for small parts (less than 13” OD).
Read and interpret blueprints and geometric tolerances.
Use precision measuring equipment (micrometers, dial indicators, depth gauges).
Assist in maintaining and repairing machining equipment.
Follow safety protocols and quality standards.
Collaborate with the team to meet specifications and participate in cross-training for CNC operations (e.g., Haas lathe, Mazak milling).
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 5 years of manual machining experience on lathes (10+ years preferred).
Materials Expertise: Familiarity with machining 316 stainless steel and exotic alloys (e.g., Hastelloy, Duplex).
Versatility: Comfortable with producing custom, one-off parts in a dynamic environment.
Communication: Strong verbal communication skills to facilitate teamwork and knowledge sharing.
CNC Knowledge: Experience with G-code and conversational programming is a strong asset.
Education: HS Diploma/GED
