Responsibilities
Works with Manager Data Services to:
• Design and establish enable data service offerings, including but not limited to
o Data Platform Services
o Data management services.
• Provide subject matter expertise and recommendations on data platform management and establishing fully managed platform services.
• Establish a managed data platform service by identifying the most suitable data platform for each specific purpose.
• Build Federated Data Ecosystem System Strategy, tactical plan, and roadmap.
• Create and present options, roadmaps, frameworks, models, and briefings for senior executives with regards to data management services, based on best and emerging practices and principles.
• Facilitate strategic conversations to develop shared understanding and generate options for decision-making to align diverse stakeholder interests and goals.
• Develop baseline and ongoing outcomes, key results, metrics, and other indicators.
• Advise and coach product and platform teams throughout project lifecycles, from initial discovery and concept to production and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Mandatory Qualifications:
M27 years -Experience designing, planning, implementing and supporting data platforms and data solutions for large projects involving multiple data sources in an architect capacity for an environment equivalent in size and complexity to the Government of Alberta.
M35 years - Experience developing and maintaining positive relationships across the organization, including executive level.
M47 years - Experience developing data technology roadmaps in support of a corporate data strategy
M5 7 years - Experience in completion of migration of applications and other technologies from one environment to another. E.G. Moves
between data centers, moves to different platforms, moves to the cloud from on-premise installation
M6 7 years - Experience in design and delivery of agile based enterprise-scale data service offerings including but not limited to- Data product design, Data platform services (on cloud and on premise) and Data management services
M7 7 years - Experience in the development and implementation of data platforms, governance standards, processes, and mechanisms to enable organizations to manage information through its entire lifecycle
M8 5 years - Experience leading and providing consultation and support to clients at all levels of an organization.
M9 7 years - Experience leading large enterprise-scale projects and programs.
M10 7 years - Experience preparing and implementing government-wide strategies and/or mandates on data transformation initiatives
DESIRABLE:
- Ability to learn quickly, problem solve, troubleshoot, work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage stress and conflict.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group.
- The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, management and vendors.
Work Experience
N27 years - Experience conducting, facilitating and interpreting impact and risk assessments across multiple scenarios.
N37 years - Experience developing all of the following: service blueprints, journey maps, prototype designs, business plans, program plans, strategic plans, tactical plans, operational plans, communication plans and road-maps
N55 years - Experience in developing business cases, feasibility studies, risk assessments, scope development, project, and program planning, change management.
N65 years - Experience in leading hybrid (cloud as well on-premise) data initiatives, from strategy development to implementation, ensuring alignment with business objectives
N75 years - Experience in the development of business cases for a wide variety of initiatives and projects (strategic, business improvement, information technology, etc.).
N85 years - Experience using analytical and problem-solving skills to plan and design creative solutions.
N95 years - Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and advanced analytics (e.g., machine learning).
N103 years - Experience with Data Fabric and Data Mesh architectures
N112 years - Experience within a Public Sector organization.
N125 years - Proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, Snowflake) and their data services, including storage, computing, and data management tools.
