The ideal Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for conducting preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance, ensuring the smooth operation of critical equipment, and maintaining a safe working environment.
This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, the ability to work independently or with a team, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities
- Conducting preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance across the facility, operating in a dynamic environment with raw meat
- Performing scheduled quantitative inspections on critical equipment for preventive maintenance
- Collaborating independently or with various departments to troubleshoot and resolve issues with electrical, control, and process systems
- Installing new equipment as required
- Operating forklifts and/or scissor lifts safely
- Participating in meetings, training sessions, and the plant's safety program
- Fulfilling miscellaneous job-related responsibilities as needed
- Documenting completed tasks and findings using maintenance computer software
- Working in wet or humid conditions in varied temperature environments, navigating slippery surfaces at different heights
- Standing for extended periods, using stairs and ladders, and wearing PPE in designated areas
- Understanding and adhering strictly to safety regulations and protocols
- Ensuring a safe and orderly work environment
- Undertaking additional tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Valid 433A or 442A is a preferred, however unlicensed candidates are welcome to apply!
- Experience in the grain industry or related food industries
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Knowledge of motor control & troubleshooting
- Ability to work overtime, including weekends
- Ability to operate machinery/ industrial equipment
- Experience with frequency drives & various sensors
- Basic knowledge of industrial safety, food safety & environmental regulations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working experience with Modicon 984 and Quantum PLCs is preferred
- Power distribution (600V, 12.47kV and 69kV) equipment installation and operation is a plus
- Programming experience with ladder logic, function block, and structured text is preferred
- Experience with PROFIBUS, MODBUS and MODBUS+, Ethernet, fiber optic and industrial wireless communications installations and troubleshooting is preferred
- Knowledge and training in workplace electrical safety standards and arc flash hazards is preferred
- Forklift certification
- Experience with SAP or a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office software, with an emphasis on Excel and Word is preferred
