They are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead a high-performing team and drive operational excellence. Responsibilities
As a Maintenance Manager in the Food processing industry, you duties will include:
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to the maintenance team, fostering open communication and employee engagement.
- Build strong relationships across departments and with external vendors to support maintenance operations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives while staying up to date with emerging technologies and industry advancements.
- Develop and manage the annual maintenance budget, ensuring cost control and adherence to financial targets.
- Collaborate with the Plant Manager to analyze financial performance and implement action plans as needed.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of all machinery and equipment, providing expert guidance and troubleshooting support.
- Plan and coordinate maintenance schedules, workforce allocation, and material requirements to optimize efficiency.
- Ensure the availability of necessary tools, resources, and spare parts for smooth maintenance operations.
- Maintain knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, refrigeration, sanitation, and material handling equipment.
- Uphold high standards of sanitation, housekeeping, and workplace cleanliness across the facility.
- Ensure all production, packaging, storage, and shipping equipment is properly maintained and in good working order.
- Enforce safety regulations and compliance with OH&S, WCB, and company policies to maintain a safe work environment.
Qualifications
What do you need for this position?
- Engineering Degree or Journeyman certification is an asset.
- 5+ years of experience in a supervisory or management role within maintenance.
- Food and/or pharma manufacturing industry experience is preferred.
- Strong experience with Preventive Maintenance Programs; knowledge of SAP software is an asset.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs, and source parts efficiently.
- Experience with parts inventory management and procurement processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with SAP & Kronos is an asset.
- Continuous Improvement (C.I.) experience, with the ability to analyze and optimize processes to reduce costs and improve quality.
- Solid understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and compliance requirements.
- Broad knowledge of computer-aided processing and packaging equipment.
- PLC training and experience is an asset.
- Strong analytical skills, with a proactive approach to diagnosing and resolving issues.
- Highly self-motivated with strong initiative, sound judgment, and a strong work ethic.
