As an integral part of the maintenance team, the Maintenance Electrician plays a crucial role in keeping operations running smoothly by maintaining and servicing facility equipment, upholding safety standards, and fostering a secure work environment. The Maintenance Electrician will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and upgrading electrical equipment in a food processing environment. This includes working on electrical and electronic control systems, communication data systems, emergency backup systems, and HVAC systems. They will handle work orders, implement corrective actions, and document all maintenance tasks. The role also involves reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings, recommending improvements, promoting best practices, and supporting health and safety initiatives within the facility.

Permanent full-time opportunity with OT
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Shifts: Morning and afternoon shifts are available, depending on the candidate's suitability.
Wage: $46.28
Union
A Red Seal Electrician certification is required, along with several years of relevant experience.
Previous experience in a fast-paced food manufacturing setting is an asset

Qualifications
Valid BC or Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman Certificate (Electrician)
5+ years of food manufacturing experience (dairy experience is an asset)
Knowledge of plant equipment and operations
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and mathematical skills
Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Proficient with CMMS, HIPPO, and basic computer skills
Experience in preventative maintenance, electrical, VFD, and PLC troubleshooting (asset)
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Team player
Additional skills/training (e.g., millwright, welding, refrigeration) are a plus
Flexibility in working hours due to seasonal or departmental needs
Physical and Working Conditions:
Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and performing physical tasks like reaching, kneeling, and standing for long periods
Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and weather elements
Work in a physically demanding environment (lifting, kneeling, standing)
Follow safety regulations and handle equipment
Use of personal protective equipment provided
