Responsibilities
Handling and organizing mail: Sorting incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring proper delivery and distribution to correct departments or recipients.
Courier tracking management: Tracking and updating the status of packages in the courier system, ensuring timely deliveries and pick-ups.
Postal equipment operation: Using postal equipment like postage machines, scanners, and package tracking tools to process mail and packages efficiently.
Customer service interaction: Providing excellent customer service by responding to inquiries regarding mail/package delivery and offering support with shipping/receiving needs.
Maintaining a clean and organized mail area: Keeping the mailroom and surrounding areas neat and orderly, ensuring the proper handling of packages.
Processing outgoing shipments: Preparing outgoing packages for shipping by labeling, weighing, and arranging for pickup or drop-off with the appropriate courier service.
Adhering to safety guidelines: Following proper lifting techniques and safety protocols to prevent injury when handling packages or equipment.
Collaboration with other teams: Coordinating with other departments to ensure timely delivery of internal and external mail, packages, and documents.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Ability to lift 25lbs
1-2 years of experience in amailroom role
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and office equipment (phones, fax, photocopier).General computer skills-Typing and emails skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Positive, professional, and friendly demeanor.
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
