Our client in the Scarborough Region is growing and looking to expand their team and bring a skilled machine operator in their powder and film division (Laundry and Detergent), lots of scent in the environment but a very clean smell!
Job title: Machine Operator
Must have experience in the metal / steel industry
Shift Timings are Afternoon: 2:45PM - 11:15 PM
Pay: $21.77 per hour

Responsibilities
Read travelers, job packets, and follow verbal instruction to ascertain required materials, operation and
lot size.
• Sort and stack parts received from laser machine.
• Set up and operate Grade 3 machines: Fladder, Small Shear, Power Notcher, Hand tools, multi-cells
• Select proper grit belt for producing specified part finish.
• Remove sharp edges, burrs, scratches and restore grain of parts using a hand held grinder.
• Perform daily equipment pre-start checks and complete checklist.
• Use all personal protective equipment and operate safely to prevent near misses/hits and accidents.
• Make adjustments to tooling in order to consistently produce good quality parts.
• Verify that the quality and quantity of work performed meets Bobrick’s standards. Perform first-off
checks and in-process inspections.
• Complete MQRS form and prepare necessary documentation as required.
• Advise the department supervisor when there is shortage of materials and report all quality defects.
• Maintain production process, including the self-balancing flow process in an efficient and effective
state.
• Follow lockout/tagout process in the event of machine breakdown and report to department supervisor.
• Maintain a healthy and safe environment by keeping all work areas clean, materials or parts positioned
correctly and following safe operating procedures at all times.
• Maintain equipment in good functional order and ensure guard are in place.
• Report hazards and unsafe conditions to department supervisor immediately.
• Report any concern, problems in business or equipment to the department supervisor.
• Continuously participate and recommend new method improvement ideas in writing to the department
supervisor.
• Participate and support projects, charter teams and events to meet the company's stated goals and
budget.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the department supervisor.
