Responsibilities
Coordinate overseas traffic activities:
Support the traffic dept activities according to budget and timeframe
Ensure all products are produced before deadlines
Communicate with overseas suppliers on a regular basis via e-mail
Contact supplier with PO number prior to shipment date to ensure delivery is scheduled with suppliers' local agents
Research various freight forwarders and request rates
Receive rates from different companies
Ensure rates are inline with budget restrictions
Receive freight and brokerage invoices , invoicing
Review invoices to ensure accuracy
Data entry of shipment schedule:
Obtain shipment information such as PO numbers, PO issue dates, supplier names, anticipated production completion dates, ship date by air or ocean, delivery dates, number of cartons, value of goods and additional comments
Enter shipment information into Excel
Create shipment schedule and submit to team
Maintain and update spreadsheet on a regular basis
Confirm duty rates (once Canadian or US customs cleared):
Receive duty invoices (customs and freight)
Research discrepancies
Research duty rates and restrictions for certain products using Canadian Duty Rate and American
Ensure that all US shipping documentation is completed accurately
Research methods and submit to team to minimize costs by consolidating orders and rerouting shipments
Qualifications
- Experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of customs,
- Strong English oral and written
-- Knowledge of MS Office,
- Excel
- team oriented, great communication skills especially in English
