Responsibilities
- Prepare, format, and proofread a variety of legal documents including pleadings, affidavits, and correspondence
- File court documents electronically and in person (as needed) across various BC court levels
- Manage calendars, schedule hearings, trials, and meetings
- Maintain and organize both digital and physical litigation files
- Communicate with clients, court registries, and opposing counsel in a professional and timely manner
- Assist lawyers with trial preparation, including document binding and court materials
- Track deadlines, limitation periods, and monitor case progress
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant in a BC law firm
- Legal Administrative Assistant certificate or diploma from an accredited institution
- Familiarity with BC Supreme and Provincial Court rules and procedures
- Proficiency with PC Law and Worldox, as well as MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information
