We are seeking a skilled and motivated Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to our legal professionals in various tasks, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our legal processes. The Legal Assistant will be responsible for organizing and maintaining legal documents, conducting legal research, and assisting with administrative tasks as needed.

Responsibilities
Document Management:
Organize and maintain legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence.
Ensure the accurate and timely filing of legal documents in physical and electronic filing systems.
Assist in the creation and formatting of legal documents.
Legal Research:
Conduct legal research on case law, statutes, and regulations as directed by attorneys.
Summarize and compile relevant legal information for use in case preparation.
Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations that may impact the organization.
Administrative Support:
Provide administrative support to legal professionals, including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and making travel arrangements.
Prepare and process legal documents, such as subpoenas, affidavits, and pleadings.
Assist in drafting routine correspondence and communications.
Communication:
Facilitate communication between legal professionals, clients, and external parties.
Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, emails, and phone calls.
Client Interaction:
Interact with clients to obtain necessary information and documentation.
Provide updates to clients on the status of their cases under the guidance of legal professionals.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related field. (an asset)
Previous experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role is required
Proficient in legal research and the use of legal databases.
Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. (In both English and French)
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation.
