Responsibilities
• Prepare, draft, and review legal documents, including court forms, pleadings, and correspondence.
• Assist with file management, scheduling, and maintaining client records.
• Communicate with clients, court staff, and opposing counsel professionally and efficiently.
• Conduct legal research and assist in case preparation.
• File court documents electronically and manage deadlines.
• Provide general administrative support to the lawyer, including billing and scheduling appointments.
Qualifications
• Education: Diploma or certificate in a Legal Assistant, Law Clerk, or Paralegal program.
• Experience: Prior experience in a family law firm is preferred but not mandatory.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal document management software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and handle confidential information with discretion.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
