Responsibilities
- Installs, aligns, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, and piping systems.
- Services and overhauls engines, compressors, pumps, turbines, and other mechanical components.
- Troubleshoots issues, maintains records, and shares expertise with Operators.
- Trains and supervises junior Mechanics while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Assists with welding, inventories materials, and may act as a supervisor when needed.
Qualifications
- Trade Certification: Red Seal / Journeyman Millwright or Heavy Duty Mechanic
- Experience & Skills: Minimum 4 years in mechanical repair/maintenance, with expertise in fitting, welding, pipefitting, and machine tools.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficient in operating and repairing large pumps, engines, and various mechanical systems, with blueprint interpretation skills.
- Computer & Communication Skills: Ability to use CMMS, Word, Excel, and predictive maintenance tools; strong verbal and written communication.
- Other Requirements: Knowledge of safety regulations, ability to develop Safe Work Procedures, own hand tools, physical capability, and a valid B.C. driver’s license.
