We are looking for an IT Business Analyst for an initial contract until August, 2025! This position is based in Burnaby and requires working hybrid on-site (3 days/week)

Responsibilities
• Working with SMEs documents processes for maintaining sound records management practices, including optimizing retrieval, archiving and secure destruction of records processes.
• Assesses the impact of the proposed business requirements on the systems and collaborates with 3rd party technical specialists and subject matter experts to implement solutions
• Research solution options as required
• Documents business requirements in various forms such as business requirements document (BRD), use cases, user scenarios, user stories, service design blueprints, business process maps, functional and technical specifications, etc. Ensures documents are catered to the audience and effectively translates business requirements and that documents maintained regularly throughout the project lifecycle
• Conducts process reviews, process improvement and impact assessment due to system changes or new implementations. Identifies all activities required to support to-be processes
• Conducts gap analysis between business rules, business requirements, legislative/compliance requirements and desired to-be state
• Supports and contributes to reports or presentations on solution options, status of current and future work activities, work plan, change readiness, UAT, etc.
• Works with project or program team(s) on solution design, ensuring needs and business goals of stakeholders are met throughout the project lifecycle
• Works with business analysts on other projects to identify critical interdependencies
• Plans production readiness activities with stakeholders and project/program managers
• Plans and coordinates user acceptance testing (UAT)
• Lead and/or participate in functional testing of proposed solution
• Monitors project risks and ensure all issues are accurately and timely documented
• Assists with the development of metrics within system related technology and business organizations
Qualifications
Desired Experience
• 6+ years’ experience in a Business Analysis role
• Minimum of six years of current, relevant experience working in a medium to large-sized IT department/organization working with multiple teams of technical staff; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Considerable related experience in designing, implementing, supporting, and administering a complex, corporate-wide electronic records management system
• Experience in Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) is an asset
• Government Experience (asset but not mandatory)
• Experience in Project Management and/or Change Management is desirable
Additional desired experience for ECM BA
• Solid understanding and experience with management, and processes/business functions that relate to the technical ECM architectural constructs
• Experience with ECM project lifecycle and BA work planning for ECM projects
• Experience with data or content migration from legacy to SharePoint Online
• Experience with SharePoint Online as an intranet tool would be a bonus.
