Responsibilities
• Provide technical and functional support for Microsoft Project Online and P2M applications.
• Respond to service requests and resolve issues through Remedy, email, and phone.
• Conduct user training, including Lunch-and-Learn sessions and one-on-one coaching.
• Maintain and update training materials and the IT Project Management Information Systems SharePoint site.
• Analyze statistical data to identify issues and generate actionable reports.
• Perform quality assurance for new features and functionalities.
• Run and review project reports for IT and business leadership.
Qualifications
Mandatory Skills
1. Two (2) years' experience in designing, implementation, performing upgrades, troubleshooting and documenting infrastructure solutions as per attached The City of Calgary Technical Environment and List of Applications.
2. A degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline with at least 4 years of related experience, at least 2 of which are using a Project Portfolio Management (PPM) solution; OR
3. A completed 2-year technical diploma from a recognized education institution with at least 8 years of related experience, of which at least 4 are using a PPM solution.
4. Three (3) years’ experience with Project Management, SQL, programming, Microsoft Project Online or Project Server Administration, project management tools and processes and best practices are considered assets.
5. Three (3) years’ experience with Share Point Management and Application Support are considered assets.
Desired Skills
1. IT operations experience background demonstrating such skills as:
a. Strong customer service skills;
b. Solid analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy; and
c. Strong communication skills (listening, written communication, and verbal communication).
2. Proficiency in documenting requirements and documenting As-Built solutions;
3. Previous work experience in the public sector or large organizations;
4. Demonstrated educational training and work experience background to a specific or defined specialization such as those listed as per The City of Calgary Technical Environment and List of Applications; and
5. Applicable vendor specialization certification as per The City of Calgary Technical Environment and List of Applications (example: MCSE, MCSA, etc.)
6. PMI certification, business analyst courses such as Gathering and Documenting Requirements, Process and Workflow Modeling and Project Management Basics are considered assets.
7. Success in this position requires a commitment to consistency and attention to detail, excellent problem solving and analytical skills as well as strong organizational skills and excellent ability to prioritize and multitask
