Intermediate Accountant – 12-Month Contract
Location: Ottawa, ON Full-Time In-Office
We’re hiring on behalf of our client for a sharp, detail-loving Intermediate Accountant to join a friendly and fast-paced finance team for a 12-month maternity leave contract. Responsibilities
- Handle monthly close activities like allocations, invoicing, reconciliations, and journal entries
- Upload and process expense reports and per diems
- Prepare and post rent, management fees, and benefit allocations
- Tackle GST/QST/HST filings and statutory declarations like a pro
- Manage prepaid expenses and vehicle amortization schedules
- Reconcile intercompany accounts and holdbacks (you love a clean balance!)
- Help prep for audits and answer financial questions with confidence
- Jump in on special projects and day-to-day accounting tasks
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of accounting experience
- High school diploma required; post-secondary education in accounting is a bonus
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics (Business Central or similar ERP)
- Solid Excel skills and a sharp eye for detail
- Strong communicator who can manage competing deadlines with ease
- Bonus points for experience with the Dynamics Jobs module
