Responsibilities
Recruitment and Integration:
Manage the entire recruitment process (job description drafting, sourcing, interviews, collaboration with agencies).
Prepare new employee files and lead onboarding programs.
Coordinate training and integration in collaboration with managers.
Employee Relations and HR Compliance:
Act as a key resource for employees, foster positive relationships, and advise managers on team cohesion strategies.
Handle disciplinary matters in collaboration with management.
Conduct internal investigations on complaints or discrimination.
Manage employee terminations and ensure proper documentation.
HR Operations and Payroll:
Develop, update, and communicate employee policies and documents.
Administer payroll and ensure compliance in collaboration with the controller.
Manage remittances for provincial labor laws (WSIB, EHT) and prepare required reports for government agencies and business intelligence partners.
Benefits Administration:
Oversee group insurance plans, RRSPs, and claim management.
Enroll new employees and manage benefits terminations.
Health and Safety:
Implement and manage health and safety programs, ensuring compliance with workplace safety standards.
Handle and report workplace incidents.
Union Relations:
Participate in collective bargaining negotiations and act as a mediator between management and the union.
Employee Engagement:
Lead employee recognition initiatives, service awards, and annual evaluations.
Coordinate corporate events and wellness programs, such as vaccination clinics.
Qualifications
University degree in Human Resources Management or a related field (CRHA/CHRP designation is an asset).
10 years of experience in human resources, including 5 years in a management role.
In-depth knowledge of Canadian labor legislation, WSIB, and CNESST claims management.
Experience with ADP WFN.
Must be able to communicate in both English and French (weekly contact with U.S. management) with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in manufacturing and unionized environments is an asset.
Professionalism, discretion, critical thinking, and sound judgment in sensitive situations.
Organized, detail-oriented, and autonomous, while effectively collaborating with managers.
