Responsibilities
HR Strategy and Leadership:
Lead and support the development and implementation of HR strategies aligned with the company’s business objectives.
Act as a key member of the Leadership Team, influencing and driving organizational outcomes across multiple stakeholder teams.
Foster a positive workplace culture through effective communication, conflict resolution, and change management.
Recruitment & Onboarding:
Oversee the entire recruitment process, including job postings, interviewing, selection, and hiring.
Ensure a smooth onboarding process to integrate new employees effectively into the company.
Payroll & Benefits Management:
Manage payroll processing, including semi-monthly cycles, incentive programs, year-end processing, taxable benefits, and tax forms.
Administer employee benefits programs, including annual reviews and liaising with brokers for market assessments.
Handle RRSP administration, from new hires to off-boarding processes.
Employee Relations & Performance Management:
Provide leadership and consulting support in areas such as performance management, progressive discipline, and conflict resolution.
Implement talent management strategies, including training and career development programs to enhance employee skills.
Compliance & Record-Keeping:
Ensure HR processes and policies comply with Canadian labor laws and company regulations.
Maintain and update employee records using HR software systems (such as UKG and SuccessFactors), ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
Analyze HR data to identify trends in employee performance, turnover, and engagement levels, and provide insights to leadership for decision-making.
Collaboration & Support:
Liaise with regional managers, IT services, and external legal teams on HR-related matters, including terminations, relocations, and immigration.
Participate in budget preparation and manage the total cost of employment (TCOE).
Training & Development:
Oversee and support all training activities, including leadership, technical, and corporate programs.
Implement training programs to foster employee growth and professional development.
Audits & Quality Assurance:
Participate in internal audits and quality audits as required, closing any identified gaps in a timely manner.
Qualifications
Experience:
5+ years of general HR experience, with at least 2 years in HR management or a leadership role.
Strong experience in payroll processing, including managing semi-monthly payroll cycles, incentive programs, year-end processing, and handling taxable benefits.
Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
CHRP or CHRL designation (or actively pursuing it).
Knowledge:
Deep understanding of Canadian labor laws and HR principles across all provinces, with a particular focus on payroll compliance.
Proficiency with HR software like UKG, SuccessFactors, and ADP Payroll for managing payroll and employee records.
Experience with benefits administration and RRSP management.
Skills:
Excellent organizational and time management skills, ensuring accurate payroll processing and meeting deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively with teams and external partners.
High level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential payroll and employee information.
Ability to manage change and resolve conflicts while fostering a positive workplace culture.
Language:
Fluent in English (written and spoken).
French is a strong asset, but not required.
