Responsibilities
What YOU will be doing as the Government Relations Coordinator:
• Support stakeholder engagement and community programs under the direction of the Director of Public Affairs.
• Build and maintain relationships with government officials, industry partners, advocacy groups, and community organizations.
• Coordinate and monitor outreach efforts across national, provincial, and municipal levels.
• Track and analyze relevant government policies, legislation, and stakeholder activity (including social media).
• Prepare briefing materials, reports, and presentations for meetings with external stakeholders.
• Support execution of events, meetings, and engagement initiatives to promote the company externally.
• Assist with national community relations partnerships and recognition programs..
• Maintain and update stakeholder databases and contact lists for priority markets..
• Identify and manage external recognition opportunities tied to the company’s mission and values.
• Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to develop stakeholder communications.
• Help coordinate and monitor the Public Affairs team budget.
Qualifications
What YOU bring to the table:
• Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience in a government environment.
• Bilingual, verbal and written, French and English is required.
• Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in a related discipline, including Communications, Political Science, or Commerce, or a combination of equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel and Microsoft Tools (including Yammer, Teams, SharePoint, Stream).
• Savvy about current and emerging social media channels and trends, someone who is on top of what is happening in the news.
• Basic understanding of procurement tools and processes (SAP, ARIBA, Process Director).
• Understanding of accounting concepts.
• Excellent verbal & strategic written communications skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
