Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of lab testing projects, including quotes, proposals, budgets, execution, deliverables, and invoicing.
Supervise lab operations, ensuring efficient scheduling and proper handling of samples (shipping, receiving, storage, and disposal).
Oversee acquisition, calibration, and maintenance of testing equipment.
Develop and manage staff training and professional development programs.
Implement a robust review process for all testing data.
Lead quality assurance initiatives.
Handle resource allocation, annual planning, and budgeting.
Define and execute the lab's strategic direction aligned with organizational goals.
Qualifications
10 to 15+ years of relevant professional experience with laboratory testing including laboratory management
Bachelor's degree in Geological/Geotechnical Engineering, Geoscience, or a related field or Certified Technician/Technology Diploma
Technical expertise and project management experience preferred
Highly developed leadership skills, previous experience in a supervisory role is considered an asset
Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and oral, and the ability to communicate effectively
Experience with construction, mining, pipeline, transportation, and/or consulting engineering
Experience with business management and operations
Experience with strategic and budget planning
