Responsibilities
In this General Accountant role in Toronto, you will be responsible for the following:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process by providing relevant financial data and analysis.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist with year-end audits, including preparing audit schedules and liaising with external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations, including tax filings and remittances.
- Provide support for special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as required.
- Maintain and update financial records, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
Qualifications
We are looking for the following for this General Accountant role located in Toronto:
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience across all aspects of the function
- A bachelor’s degree in either business administration or accounting.
- Experience working with a large accounting or ERP system is a great asset.
- Experience working in a similar industry is an asset.
