Responsibilities
Set and run 4-slide machine until dimensions are holding and parts are being produced consistently to specifications.
Must perform in process inspection of parts.
Responsible for maintaining productivity and efficiency as per Work Order specifications.
Fit and assemble machined metal parts and subassemblies using hand and power tools.
Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision
Must maintain responsible housekeeping of work area.
Must maintain and follow ISO 9001:2015 procedures as required.
Must maintain and follow departmental procedures.
Must perform other basic operations relating to the department as determined by the company.
Qualifications
Experience with Four-Slide Machine or similar.
Basic literacy skills (reading & writing).
Well developed mathematical skills and able to use decimals, algebra, geometry & solve angle problems.
Well-developed mathematical skills for checking & recording part dimensions and other necessary data.
Problem-solving and analytical skills required for planning, construct, and design/re-design and/or repair broken or worn out tools.
High levels of attention to detail required while setting up & running machines to ensure parts are manufactured to correct specification and prevent machine malfunction, as well as monitoring operators within the departments supervised.
Job tasks require gross and fine motor dexterity & skill.
Ability to read and interpret drawings in metric standard.
Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures when working in and around heavy machinery.
Must have knowledge of Inspection Equipment (e.g., Vernier Calipers, micrometers)
measuring instruments.
Education Required:
Minimum of Grade 12 Diploma or Equivalent.
Machine Shop experience a MUST.
