Responsibilities
Responsibilities include instructing new employees in site safety, material handling equipment, systems (including Warehouse Management Systems), and quality training. You will refresh existing employees in these areas through a continuous training schedule. Additional responsibilities include auditing employees, issuing reports and recommendations, ensuring proper documentation of training, complying with safety requirements, and looking for opportunities to improve operational excellence and safety performance. You will also lead communications strategies to improve awareness, understand work processes, assist in warehouse tasks when training is not required, and perform material handling tasks as needed.
Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years of material handling equipment experience is required. Experience operating counterbalance, reach, order picker, and pallet trucks is an asset. Prior training experience is considered an asset, as is experience with wireless RF systems, preferred picking practices, cold storage, Microsoft Office Suite, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and certified MHE trainer (Train the Trainer) certification or willingness to obtain it.
