Responsibilities
◾Prepare and review technical calculations, drawings, specifications, procurement documents, and other materials required for procurement and construction phases.
◾Design, develop, validate, and oversee the installation of electrical systems and equipment.
◾Contribute to multidisciplinary projects by developing electrical designs and concepts for power distribution systems.
◾Work with architects, engineers, and project owners to create design concepts.
◾Manage the design of systems such as lighting, modeling, fire alarms, communication systems, process control, and power distribution up to 44kV.
◾Oversee electrical infrastructure and power systems projects, including project management responsibilities.
◾Identify and analyze technical issues, providing solutions and recommendations.
◾Prepare specifications, contract documentation, engineering progress reports, ensuring all designs comply with relevant codes and client requirements.
◾Develop detailed designs for both high and low voltage system needs.
Qualifications
◾Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
◾3–5 years of related work experience.
◾Licensed Professional Engineer in good standing with the Professional Engineers Ontario or an EIT within one year of license.
◾Strong knowledge and experience with industrial HVAC controls and the Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
◾Proficiency in trade-off analysis and the design of electrical systems.
