Responsibilities
- Oversees all aspects of distribution centre operations, including health and safety, labour relations, inventory management, sanitation, and facility maintenance to ensure a safe, compliant, and efficient work environment.
- Manages the flow of goods to meet store expectations, ensuring inventory accuracy, minimizing damages and spoilage, and maintaining product rotation standards.
- Drives operational performance by achieving key performance indicators (KPIs), controlling operating costs, and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
- Leads continuous improvement initiatives, collaborating across departments to enhance processes, deliver year-over-year KPI improvements, and advance corporate responsibility efforts.
- Fosters network collaboration, sharing and adopting best practices
- Leads operations across multiple shifts, overseeing staffing, performance management, grievance resolution, and adherence to the union
- Builds and develops high-performing teams by recruiting top talent, providing ongoing training, setting clear performance standards, and fostering professional growth.
- Drives operational excellence through the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Standard Operating Procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or Industrial Engineering
- 7+ years of management experience in a unionized distribution or logistics environment, with strong experience within a unionized environment
- Proven experience with automated distribution centres and leading Continuous Improvement initiatives, preferably with Lean Six Sigma training.
- Strong technical proficiency with MS Office & Distribution Management Systems
