Responsibilities
Working under the Terminal Manager, the Senior Dispatcher will support with day-to-day operations, dispatch and driver compliance duties
- Dispatch daily truck operations for pick-up and deliveries
- Manage the information on routes, trips, schedules, pick-up information, return information
- Identify any problems and service needs and works to resolve
- Ensures all driver-logs are completed and submitted on time
- Driver compliance duties (fuel reduction initiatives, speeding, etc), conducts meetings with drivers to ensure regulations and up-to-date training and development
- Support with new hires, guide and coach staff
- Follow branch objectives and sales objectives
- Participate in the health and safety initiatives
- Work closely with shop supervisor for truck repairs
- All other duties
Qualifications
- French and English is mandatory
- At least 5 years in Dispatching Canada/USA
- Team player. Able to work well with others
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Good communicator
- Minimum high school diploma
- Strong geographical knowledge of Canada
