Reporting to the Dispatch Manager, this position is responsible for managing a group of P&D drivers. The Dispatch Supervisor will be expected to plan and organize driver routes on a daily basis to service our customers. Will also follow up with any customer or driver concerns and provide a resolution.

Salary: $25- $29 per hour
Location: Mississauga (onsite)
Hours: Afternoons/ Evening Shifts

Responsibilities
● Manage the day-to-day operations of a group of city drivers, as well as assist with Linehaul dispatch duties,
● Planning and forecasting of city routes based on pick-up and delivery volumes.,
● Ensure that service levels meet and or exceed the needs of our customers,
● Review issues with the drivers (safety concerns, customer complaints, service failures, etc.), holding drivers accountable for their performance.
● Scheduling P&D drivers based on daily volumes (cancel P&D bids and/or schedule agency drivers as required).
● Authorization and processing of payroll and driver overtime (Start times/No Lunch/Audit Daily Performance)
● Call outside agents and outsource work when business needs demand,
● Review operational efficiencies and effect change as necessary to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and cost efficiencies (Stops per hour/Waiting Time/Overtime)
● Communicate professionally with internal and external customers to resolve service issues in a timely manner and provide customers with status updates,
● Schedule repairs and maintenance for equipment and monitor equipment sitting at the customer yards.
● Ensure the drivers follow Company Safety Policies and Procedures (HOS, MTO, TDG, CBA, CLC, Speeding and Idling etc.)
● KPIs include but are not limited to On-Time Delivery, Stops per Hour, Overtime and Waiting Time.
● Coordinating vehicle accidents and/or incidents involving company employees and equipment (Accident or incident report/ Police Report/ Rescue Plan/ WSIB witness statements, etc.)
● Other duties as reasonably assigned.
Qualifications
● Minimum three years supervisory experience in a transportation dispatch environment,
● Strong leadership and management skills,
● Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills,
● Customer service oriented,
● Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks,
● Professional verbal and written communication skills in English (bilingual in French is an asset),
● Computer literate with sound knowledge of Gmail and Excel,
● Ability to work flexible hours (afternoons, evenings and weekends) as necessary,
● High School Education or equivalent (Post-Secondary education in a related field is considered an asset),
● Knowledge of MTO, DG, DOT, and CLC Regulations
● Knowledge of Transportation Operating Systems (AS400, ELDs)
