Responsibilities
In this newly created role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Communicate strategic logistics and warehouse plans to senior management
- Implement operational metrics for warehouse management and logistics, setting performance goals
- Prepare for challenges (e.g., seasonal demand spikes, supply chain issues) with contingency plans
- Manage warehouse efficiencies and working capital by removing expired/obsolete inventory
- Oversee logistics process, including carrier/broker negotiations, ensuring savings without compromising on-time delivery
- Introduce relevant technology to improve warehouse operations with measurable ROI
- Optimize space usage, product flow, and warehouse efficiency using best practices
- Leverage the global warehouse network to enhance product efficiency
- Navigate the transportation market and regulations for Canada, the US, and international shipping, with knowledge of CTPAT and trade rules
- Build and evaluate effective logistics and warehouse teams
- Develop a risk management program to ensure supply continuity during emergencies
- Manage staff performance through communication, planning, coaching, and enforcing policies
- Achieve financial goals by developing budgets, controlling costs, and maximizing asset use
- Ensure compliance with legal, company, and regulatory policies and procedures
- If needed, recommend expansion options for new warehouse locations
Qualifications
- You have a minimum of 5 years experience at the Sr level overseeing logistics and warehouse management
- You have a minimum of 5 years experience in a leadership position
- You have proven success in creating and hitting company goals and objectives on a local and global scale
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or a similar field
- A professional certification such as CSCP or Logistics, transportation and distribution is necessary for success
- You have incredible communication skills (written and verbal)
- You have experience and the skills to deal with conflict management
