This is a hands-on position that encompasses the full spectrum of financial responsibilities, from managing day-to-day accounting tasks to shaping and executing strategic financial plans. Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the organization’s mission and growth.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including charitable reporting standards.
- Manage audits and liaise with external auditors and stakeholders.
- Optimize the use of Sage 50 for financial management and reporting.
- Provide financial insights to the leadership team to guide decision-making.
- Monitor cash flow, manage investments, and oversee grant reporting and fund allocations.
- Work along side the Executive Director on initiatives such as process improvement and donor funding
Qualifications
- CPA designation required.
- Proven experience in financial management within charitable or non-profit organizations.
- Hands-on experience with Sage 50 accounting software.
- Strong knowledge of charitable financial reporting and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on accounting tasks.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
