Director of Finance

This is a hands-on position that encompasses the full spectrum of financial responsibilities, from managing day-to-day accounting tasks to shaping and executing strategic financial plans. As the Director of Finance, you will oversee operations that include budgeting, financial reporting, compliance, and audit preparation while providing valuable insights to guide organizational decisions.

Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the organization’s mission and growth.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including charitable reporting standards.
- Manage audits and liaise with external auditors and stakeholders.
- Optimize the use of Sage 50 for financial management and reporting.
- Provide financial insights to the leadership team to guide decision-making.
- Monitor cash flow, manage investments, and oversee grant reporting and fund allocations.
- Work along side the Executive Director on initiatives such as process improvement and donor funding

Qualifications
- CPA designation required.
- Proven experience in financial management within charitable or non-profit organizations.
- Hands-on experience with Sage 50 accounting software.
- Strong knowledge of charitable financial reporting and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on accounting tasks.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
