The ideal candidate will have technology hardware delivery experience with strong skills in developing, maintaining, and overseeing project artifacts, timelines and budgets.
Objectives of this role
• Oversee the execution of hardware projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and implementation plans, including risk mitigation.
• Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure that projects adhere to scope, schedule, and budget.
• Analyze project status and, when necessary, revise the scope, schedule, or budget to ensure that project requirements can be met.
• Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes.
Responsibilities
• Provide guidance and coaching to project managers. Conduct 1:1 meetings with Project Managers to discuss project-based performance and foster connections.
• Manage overall delivery, status, health of hardware deployment projects for retail, as well as ensuring the health and accuracy of technical documentation and project artifacts.
• Ensures all project tasks are clearly understood, assigned, and tracked.
• Verify that Hardware delivery Projects are launched Operationally Ready.
• Oversee the operations of the retail ticketing queue using ServiceNow, effectively providing support or triaging tickets to relevant team members.
• Working with vendors, with particular focus on procurement and relationship management. Communicate with external vendors to provide feedback and use escalation channels as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional technology teams to escalate problems and trends and to partner on escalations as required.
• Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate channels and stakeholders, escalate issues, as necessary, according to project work plan.
• Create and maintain project-level financial forecasts and actuals in partnership with Project Managers to inform Program Manager’s budget management.
• Commit to continuous improvement by contributing to the enhancement of Retail Tech Hardware, collaborating with team members, and sharing feedback with leaders.
• Establish and maintain processes for managing scope during the project lifecycle, setting quality and performance standards and assessing risks.
• Work with Analysts and Architects to produce Hardware Solution Designs. Support engineering teams to ensure that technology projects requiring hardware innovation are scoped appropriately.
• Owns program-related resource management and 3rd party vendor management. Will be the point of contact for Procurement, Security, Legal, Stakeholder Management (Sponsor, Leadership, Architects).
Qualifications
• Strong technical aptitude and the ability to understand complex IT systems and processes.
• Keen attention to detail, deadlines and budgetary guidelines.
• Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in coaching project team members to strengthen their abilities and skill sets
• Proven success working with all levels of cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Ability to consult, facilitate and manage expectations with leadership, cross-functional teams, and vendors.
• Ability to leverage appropriate project management methodologies based on project requirements.
• Strong leadership skills, including influencing and gaining consensus without direct authority.
• Experience in managing waterfall, hybrid & agile delivery teams.
• Passion for problem-solving with an ability to excel in an ambiguous environment.
Formal training & knowledge:
o 4+ years in technology or related field w/ 4+ yrs exp in project management, 1-2 yrs in program management scrum/safe or other agile practice certification required if leading a scrum team.
o PMP certification and/or formal knowledge of project management principles, processes, and tools.
o Knowledge of working with 3rd party strategic partners, Vendor SOWs, RFPs, and contracts.
