Responsibilities
- Ability to work with several application development teams to analyze requirements and design highly scalable solutions. Ensure solutions are well designed using modeling techniques for OLTP and mixed workloads with maintainability in mind.
- Participate and guide software engineers to deliver efficient solution with database best practice.
- Ability to perform end-to-end impact assessment for any technical change and its effect on upstream and downstream systems.
- Responsible for designing and developing complex requirements to accomplish various business goals.
- Perform proof of concept (POC) when necessary to mitigate risk during implementation of new ideas or methodologies. Perform required research when necessary to implement leading practices in supporting scalable solutions.
- Possess strong proficiency in development and testing practices common to the industry.
- Work closely with application development, DBA, UNIX and database engineering teams, when necessary
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- 10+ years of professional database architecture and development experience
- Hands on experience with SQL and PL/SQL; ability to design and manage procedures, functions, packages, triggers
- Strong understanding of SDLC, Version Control systems (git, svn) and Release Management processes
- Experience working on Oracle Exadata or similar MPP databases
- Experience with online transaction processing (OLTP) and data warehousing (DW) systems in ~100 TB scale
- Experience with proactive database capacity planning
- Experience with resource management within Oracle Exadata Appliance
- Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL, query performance tuning and data modeling
- Ability to work independently, conduct group meetings and work under pressure
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and integrity
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or similar field
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience in the financial industry (Equities) is a plus
Must have qualifications
- Load Runner 3-5 years
- Performance Testing 3-5 years
