Responsibilities
• Lead development and maintenance of data
science and analytics processes, procedures, and
policies
• Lead identification, design, and implementation
of integration, modelling, and orchestration of
complex data using relevant coding language(s)
• Act as subject matter expert for data engineering
needs
• Create and maintain relevant documentation and
conduct knowledge transfer activities
Advanced Data Modeling: Build and optimize complex data models to meet the needs of business users, enhancing their ability to make informed decisions.
Data Analysis and Stakeholder Engagement: Utilize advanced analytical tools and frameworks to interpret and present data and models, effectively engaging and influencing stakeholders.
Reporting and Support: Provide ongoing support for daily reporting and data modeling tasks, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of information to support business decisions.
Production Support and Troubleshooting: Address and resolve production issues related to application functionality and integrations, particularly post-implementation, to ensure continuous system performance.
Continuous Improvement: Monitor system performance and user feedback to identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend enhancements to optimize business processes and system functionality.
Qualifications
Experience: 6-9 years of experience with Oracle/SQL server (Required)
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field. Advanced degrees or certifications in database management or related specialties are advantageous.
Exceptional Communication Skills: Demonstrated excellence in both oral and written communication, capable of effectively articulating technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Solid Experience with Modern Data Platforms: Hands-on experience with cloud-native solutions, DataBricks, and Snowflake for scalable data processing and machine learning operations.
Expertise in Scripting and Data Analysis: Strong proficiency in scripting for data analysis and automation, with a deep understanding of SQL and experience in Python for data operations.
Advanced Data Management Experience: Minimum of 3 years proven experience in designing, managing, and optimizing data warehouses and complex ETL workflows, preferably with experience in modern ETL tools and practices.
Analytical Acumen: Robust analytical skills to derive insights from data, support Business Analysts, and contribute to data-driven decision-making processes.
Problem-Solving Expertise: Advanced problem-solving abilities with a strong foundation in mathematical principles applicable to data modeling and machine learning.
Backend Development Skills: Experience in backend development, particularly with PL/SQL, and an openness to adopting new programming paradigms.
Cloud Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, with a focus on leveraging cloud services for data solutions.
Big Data Expertise: Extensive experience with big data technologies and methodologies, skilled in handling large-scale data manipulation and analysis.
ML/Ops and DevOps Integration: Familiarity with modern operational practices including ML/Ops and DevOps, with a track record of improving pipeline efficiency and deployment.
Industry Experience: Retail industry experience preferred, with fashion retail experience highly desirable.
Data Architecture Insight: Knowledge of data architecture principles, especially in environments using Oracle Retail Management Systems or similar platforms, is a plus.
