Responsibilities
Design and implement data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, and data architectures using Snowflake and Azure services for efficient data processing.
Optimize Snowflake performance through query tuning, data partitioning, and leveraging Azure tools for scalable management.
Ensure data security, compliance, and governance with encryption, access controls, and auditing in Snowflake and Azure.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data solutions with business goals and technical requirements.
Mentor junior engineers, promoting best practices and continuous learning in data engineering.
Qualifications
Intermediate to Senior Data Engineer with 3+ years of experience
Must have Azure and Snowflake hands-on experience, preferably in large-scale enterprise data projects
Hands on and a minimum of 2 projects experience with Azure and Snowflake
Experience being the technical lead of a group of data engineers, mentorship, and driving solutions to meet complex requirements
Good understanding of modern data platforms including data lakes and data warehouse, with good knowledge of the underlying architecture, preferably in Snowflake
Proven experience in assembling large, complex sets of data that meets non-functional and functional business requirements
Experience in identifying, designing, and implementing integration, modelling, and orchestration of complex Finance data and at the same time look for process improvements, optimize data delivery and automate manual processes
Working experience of scripting, data science, and analytics (SQL, Python, PowerShell, JavaScript)
Working experience of performance tuning and optimization, bottleneck problems analysis, and technical troubleshooting in a, sometimes, ambiguous environment
Working experience of working with cloud based systems (Azure experience preferred)
Working knowledge of CI/CD
Technical expertise to build code that is performant as well as secure
Technical depth and vision to perform POC’s and evaluate different technologies
Experience with Real Time Analytics and Real Time Messaging
Working knowledge of building data integrity checks as part of delivery of applications
Experience working with Kafka technologies
Design, implement and monitor 'best practices' for Dev framework
Experience working with large volume data; retail experience strongly desired
In depth knowledge with hands-on experience in building pipelines with Azure Data Factory (ADF)
Hands-on experience in Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Key Vault, Logic Apps, DevOps (CI/CD) are highly preferred
Good understanding of data lake and data warehouse architecture
Proven experience in assembling large, complex sets of data that meets non-functional and functional business requirements
Experience in identifying, designing, and building integration, modelling, and orchestration of complex Finance data and at the same time look for process improvements, optimize data delivery and automate manual processes
Working experience of performance tuning and optimization and technical troubleshooting
Technical expertise to build code that is performant
Working knowledge of building data validation, data cleansing and data integrity checks as part of delivery of ETL pipelines
