Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough analysis of asset data within the Cartegraph database to understand data structure, quality, and relationships.
- Identify data discrepancies, inconsistencies, and potential migration challenges.
- Assess data quality and develop data cleansing strategies.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to define data mapping requirements between Cartegraph and IBM Maximo.
- Develop and document detailed data mapping specifications.
- Perform data transformation and cleansing activities to ensure data compatibility with IBM Maximo. Assist in the design of the overall ETL processes.
- Develop and execute data validation scripts and procedures to ensure data accuracy and completeness during migration.
- Conduct thorough data quality checks and resolve data issues.
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate migrated data.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to data mapping, transformation, and validation processes.
- Provide regular progress reports and updates to project stakeholders.
- Assist in creating data migration-related reports.
- Work closely with Project Manager, Maximo SMEs, database administrators, and other project team members.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment and address data-related concerns.
Qualifications
Must Haves:
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server).
- Understanding of database schemas, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts.
- Proven experience in data migration projects, preferably involving large datasets.
General Skills:
- Understanding of asset management principles and practices.
- Familiarity with asset data structures and relationships.
- Ability to identify and resolve data-related issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
