Responsibilities
Minimize income tax expense and exposure through effective tax planning and documentation.
Manage corporate and indirect tax audits and litigations to reduce tax expenses and risks.
Ensure timely computation and accounting of tax expenses and liabilities in compliance with IFRS and internal reporting standards.
Comply with government filing requirements by preparing and reviewing tax returns and managing remittances.
Ensure adherence to indirect taxation regulations, including Federal Excise, VAT, Provincial Tobacco Tax, and import duties.
Provide expert tax advice on transactions and developments related to the Income Tax Act.
Review and prepare transfer pricing documentation.
Supervise, coach, and support the Income Tax Analyst, ensuring development plans are in place.
Qualifications
3-5 years of relevant experience.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or finance.
Professional accounting designation (CPA) or CPA in-depth tax course is an asset.
Experience in Transfer Pricing is an asset.
Proficient in Excel, Tax Prep, and other Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of tax research tools (Thomson Reuters, Carswell, CCH, etc.).
Familiarity with SAP modules.
Bilingualism (French & English).
